PUMA 3D PST (Power Shooting Technology) The technology is a combination of two elements that work hand in hand. The visible injected 3D ‘gills’ are made of a rather hard TPU material. Beneath this is a layer of ‘Spring Tech’ foam – a soft foam with extremely high rebound properties. The ‘gills’ due to it’s material properties and geometry help reduce energy loss when the ball hits the foot. In addition to this, upon ball impact the ‘gills’ get pushed into the ‘Spring Tech’ foam which is then rebounding, releasing tension and returning energy. Overall result and combined with current technologies in today’s footballs, is a much harder and powerful strike with minimal effort.
